WHAT TO EXPECT-Birth Photography

I am probably just as excited as you are about your expectant arrival:)

Let’s meet and talk, then if you decide that I am a great fit for your birth photographer, Thank You. I am honored. There is nothing more amazing on this earth than a birth of a child and there is no other thing I’d rather photograph.

So, let’s begin to make a photography plan and think about when you’d like me to arrive and quietly begin photographing your labor.

We will consider factors like how fast your previous labors were (if any) and what the doctor or midwife are predicting as well as your birth plan and what your expectations are with birth photography.

We may text a lot in the very early stages of your labor to communicate how you are progressing. Please get in touch as soon as you think you may be in labor. Even if it’s a false alarm or 4 a.m., I’d rather be prepared then miss your birth.

When we make the decision that it’s time to for me to arrive (5-6cm dilated usually), I will either meet you at your house, the birth center, or at the hospital, or wherever we’ve predetermined.

Upon arrival, I will sink quietly into the walls  and photograph your labor and birth as it progresses naturally capturing your birth exactly as it was intended to happen.

I will stay for about three hours after the birth, which will allow plenty of time for photographs of the “falling in love” phase, bonding with mom and dad, first bath & weighing, feeding, and first meetings with any siblings and grandparents.

It’s is also helpful to check in with me via email or phone calls after your doctor’s appointments, just so I am up to date on the progression of your pregnancy or if any thing changes along the way.

It will be your responsibility to clear photography with the attending doctor or midwife as well as the hospitals before entering into a contract with Suzanne Bobosky Photography.

Most hospitals do not allow cesareans to be photographed. In the event of an unplanned c-section, I will begin to photograph as soon as hospital staff permits.

All high resolution images on flash drive with release of printing rights, uploaded printing gallery for ordering, and a private, passcode protected online gallery for three months after the birth of your little bundle of joy.
